    Salesforce developer will support the expansion of our Salesforce capabilities while working on projects from requirement gathering to design and implementation. Responsibilities will also include Salesforce configuration along with the system maintenance and customization to support business requirements, recommending opportunities for on-going improvements as appropriate. The role demands considerable Salesforce.com experience developing declaratively and programatically.


    This is an exciting role which will allow the successful candidate to work as part of dynamic team and interact with stakeholders across different departments and levels.


    How you will contribute:


    • Proactively interacting with stakeholders to understand Salesforce requirements and subsequently translate them into technical specification
    • This will involve chairing information gathering workshops, conducting one to one interviews and producing documents to allow data capture
    • Managing delivery of functional and technical solutions and system integrations including testing strategy and execution
    • Ensuring technical solution proposed meet Salesforce coding best practice and code coverage to be at 90%+
    • Managing existing and building new integration between Salesforce and other applications.
    • Performing and executing all functional testing. Developing use cases, test scripts, and translate these for usage in automated regression testing.
    • Working with business colleagues to gain user acceptance and take up.
    • Creating custom build reports for trend analysis using standard reports functionality as well as Reporting Snapshot and Historical Trending
    • Developing a continuous Salesforce training program to ensure users are always up-to-speed with new features.
    • Delivering Salesforce training sessions to both new and existing users.
    • Create and keep Salesforce related technical documents and training materials up-to-date.
    • Keeping up-to-date with new Salesforce releases and promptly identifies: 1.Features which could add value to the Economist Salesforce users 2. Features which will impact existing processes and require urgent attention.
    • Ensure the Salesforce data storage is within limit - implement continuous review and corrective action.
    • Providing support for the day to day management of Salesforce.com
    • Performing administrative tasks such as setting up users, managing the security settings, creating or updating fields, page layouts, process builder and workflows, reports and dashboard and managing data using data loader or other tools.

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    Skills, qualifications and experience required:


    • A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent; and
    • Certifications in Salesforce.com Development and Salesforce.com Administration.
    • At least 2 years of progressive Salesforce experience (from administrator to developer) gained in a similar role
    • Salesforce.com Service or Sales Cloud
    • Using middleware such as Informatica, MuleSoft or Scribe to integrate with other applications.
    • Using custom controllers or Salesforce Canvas to integrate with external web service tool
    • Customising Salesforce.com to drive sales efficiency
    • Analysis and design through to successful implementation of Salesforce.com, including experience with Salesforce.com developer toolkit including Apex Classes, Controllers, and Triggers, Visualforce, Force.com IDE, Migration Tool, Web Services
    • Managing code coverage within the governance limit
    • Designing complex SOQL and SOSL queries
    • Delivering Salesforce.com training to users at all levels in terms of organisational structure and experience using Salesforce
    • Business analysis with a solid understanding of business processes
    • Mapping business processes to the technical solution and undertaking impact analysis
    • A proven track record of successful project delivery with at least two full project lifecycles completed
    • Providing applications users with technical and functional support

    To succeed in the role you must demonstrate:


    • A good understanding of data structures, data modelling, DB schema
    • Exposure to Agile development methodologies
    • Knowledge of Java and Javascript
    • Excellent team working with both clients and colleagues
    • Strong stakeholder management and a demonstrable desire to be the voice of users in communicating with Management
