    The central “Insight & Data Science” team at The Economist exists to provide unified, high-quality data to the entire business, and ultimately to ensure we make the right decisions as an organisation. As a member of this team you will work directly with other BI developers, analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to make sure our BI and analytics systems deliver the right data to the people who need it. In this role you will manage and enhance existing suite of BI Applications as well as enhance and enforce enterprise wide BI standards and best practices.  


    In this role you will be expected to:


    • Manage and monitor data refresh processes (Qlikview / Qlik Sense)
    • Respond to business requests, when ad-hoc analysis, data or general support is required
    • Perform impact analysis of new business requirements on existing BI landscape
    • Work closely with Architects on the design of BI solutions
    • Document data flows and mapping rules between source systems and QlikView/Qlik Sense dashboards
    • Build and enforce data quality rules and standards within BI applications
    • Build pro-active tools and processes to monitor and flag data quality gaps and issues within BI applications
    • Help enforce and enhance BI standards used for ETL and data visualisation
    • Provide end user training on new / enhanced BI applications

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:


    • A graduate degree (or equivalent)
    • Extensive experience (3+ years) building and enhancing QlikView/Qlik Sense applications
    • Experience building/supporting NPrinting applications
    • Extensive experience administrating QlikView/Qlik Sense platforms.
    • Full software life cycle development exposure within BI space
    • Hands on experience working with relational databases (SQL Server) and SQL/TSQ
    • Experience in dealing with business users at all levels
    • The ability to convey concepts, issues and risks to technical audience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
    • High levels of energy, enthusiasm and passion to succeed in a dynamic environment

    • Dimensional modelling
