    Currently, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant who will be responsible for owning the accounts payable cycle and prepare all statutory returns (GST, service tax, TDS, etc.) independently with minimal supervision. He/she will also prepare monthend closing journals,  reconciliations, and support statutory compliance works for our India region.

    Accountabilities

    In the role you would be expected to:

    • Handle the accounts payable cycle (including suppliers, staff expenses claim etc) efficiently, accurately and with minimal supervision.
    • Handle inquiries internally and externally
    • Maintain accounting records (both hard-copy and electronic-copy), ensure all compliance requirements are met
    • Ensure that India Companies Act, company policies and guidelines are adhered and escalate where appropriate
    • Support filing and payment of indirect/ direct taxes
    • Support intercompany bank account transfer
    • Prepare monthend journals
    • Follow monthend schedules in a timely and accurate manner with follow up actions to clean up any unreconciled / outstanding items
    • Handle accounts receivable cash application
    • Visit bank, tax offices etc
    • Take up ad-hoc projects as assigned

     

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    To succeed in the role you must have:

    • Degree holder in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience in commercial firms, preferably in sizable MNCs. Regional exposure is an advantage
    • Practical knowledge in handling India taxation (GST/ service tax/ TDS, etc.)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Hindi.
    • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications
    • PeopleSoft experience is an advantage
