Currently, we are seeking a Graphic Designer who will be responsible for creating compelling print and digital designs for The Economist Group and its clients, including advertorials, reports, and presentations, and will create and/or source imagery to illustrate articles, and infographics.

 

The role reports to the Senior Design in Gurgaon, and partners closely with global research editorial-, and design teams across the Economist Group. Some flexibility will be required to cover day-to-day contact with other regions.



Accountabilities

In this role you will be expected to:

 

  • Work with editors to create printed and digital designs, like reports and infographics
  • Work with the Senior Design to create clear, visually compelling designs for advertorials, ads, and report covers
  • Source appropriate imagery for articles, reports, advertorials, infographics, ads
  • Work with infographic designer to create clear and beautiful  infographics, by creating or modifying custom imagery, illustrations, icons,  and charts/graphs
  • Develop, communicate, execute, and amend design ideas based on a brief
  • Manage your time while working on multiple projects and prioritize work based on deadlines
  • Be detail-, and solution-oriented

 

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in this role you must have:

 

  • 3 or more years of experience in  graphic design, digital design, and/or information design
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communications skills
  • Strong ability to create interesting and beautiful designs
  • Good instincts for storytelling and design
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent work experience as a graphic designer
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Knowledge of Powerpoint, Keynote, or Slides
